The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) both develops and promotes standard technologies for the Web. On the W3C Web site, you will find information about Web technologies such as the HyperText Markup Language (HTML), the Extensible Markup Language (XML), the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) or Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). They provide great tools to validate your HTML code for correctness.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is the non-profit corporation that was formed to assume responsibility for the IP address space allocation, protocol parameter assignment, domain name system management, and root server system management functions previously performed under U.S. Government contract by IANA and other entities.

The HTML Writer's Guild was founded in 1994 as the world's leading educational organization for Web developers, with over 150,000 members in more than 160 countries world-wide. In 2001 the Guild joined with the International Webmasters Association to form IWA-HWG, the premier association for the growth and development of the Web profession.
